Named after Mr. Rogers and character Eliot Rosewater from Kurt Vonnegut’s book “God Bless You Mr. Rosewater”, Rogers & Rosewater mission is to feed as many people as we can.
We believe that food is a necessity and a human right.
No one should go hungry!
We have been bringing hot homemade meals to people facing food insecurity in Oakland every Wednesday night since December 2018.
The world we live in can be harsh and cruel to people-especially those who are experiencing homelessness.
And all we want to be is the kindness in it - one meal at a time.
Donate
Every week, we give over 200 meals to our unhoused neighbors. Each meal contains a main course, a snack, a dessert, a juice, and a bottle of water. We try to provide enough so folks can eat and still have some to save for later.
We also try to provide hygiene kits (toothbrush, soap, hand sanitizer, etc.) and weather protection (hats, rain ponchos, tents, blankets, etc.) to anyone who needs it.
We can’t do this without your donations. All monetary donations are spent directly on food and supplies. We also have an Amazon Wishlist (feel free to order from other merchants) and we are open to accepting local drop-offs of items.
Volunteer
We are a small group of volunteers and we are always looking for folks to join us on Wednesdays to help prepare food and kits as well as drop supplies off at local curbside communities. If you are interested in volunteering, please get in touch.
